A true Lakeland Classic and a test of character, the Ennerdale Fell Race is only suitable for experienced fell runners.
The route follows the clockwise horseshoe around Ennerdale Water. The terrain is variable and very rough. This is a tough race. The start and finish of the route are marked. All runners must follow the marked route, no short cuts are permitted.
Registration is at the Scout Camp (follow the track from the woodland parking for 400m).
The start is 100m from registration and sign posted.
Full kit is required - see race organisers website for details, www.cfra.co.uk
Parking is available at the public car park, NY 085 153, or the scout camp parking in the woods on the left just off the road 50m before the public car park. In busy years there will be a strain on parking so arrive in plenty of time.
Full toilet and shower facilities are available at the scout camp.
Note, there is no camping at the scout camp.
* these splits do entail some ascent but as they are net downhill so I have shown the descent figures.
Available (see bottom of the post to download)
This one is worth a recce as there are lots of different horses and courses...
